He is silver with black eyes and is currently on Aaru. The AwakenedHumans who have undergone a stress/severe trauma driven transformation usually triggered by the bone deep need to save someone they love from something life threatening or equally awful. (Or have been born to one or more Awakened parents) have the –pathic gifts (or being aware), including telepathy, empathy, teleportation plus the ability to create something by visualizing it (emergent). They also usually have another gift, such as healing (ex. Baylee), channeler (ex. Stephen), a higher degree of Empathy (ex. The Lady Liliana, now missing), Recording (ex. Adam), Finding (ex. Liam), etc. (called being gifted). Immortal…can’t die of natural causes but can be killed. The ListenersA subset of the Awakened who also have the ability to ‘hear’ the emergence of a New One. Stephen is their leader. As a group they are powerful politically, but are relatively small in numbers. Not all with the ability to Listen work as Listeners or have even been trained as one. Stephen hand picks his teams, always. Some live at the Refuge, most at Home. All Listeners have the full range of Awakened gifts. They are Awakened, aware, emergent and gifted. They are all deeply loyal to Stephen and hostile towards the Council because of past actions and current stance toward them and Stephen. The ExiledA subset of the Awakened who refused to sign the Covenants when they were first drafted. Also now including those who have rejected it since. Tabitha and Eli are exiled, who refused to sign the Covenants when they were drafted. The Never Found Awakened who are as the name implies. The Old Ones A race that evolved first, very fast and sometime prior to humans. It is through interbreeding with humans that the Awakened emerged. Most are dead as they killed each other off during a long period of genocidal in-fighting for power. The RenegadeThose who violated the Covenants to such a degree they were stripped of all their Awakened powers (or rather blocked, since there’s a storyline in that) and then ejected from Home back to earth. The MixedA subset of the Awakened who are children of a mating between an Awakened parent and a non Awakened parent. Some have some or all of the awakened gifts and some have none. The First Ones Ancient sentient race, primogenitors of all others. The Star Lords Races who, with the First Ones, rule the non-created universes. Earth Kin A race of beings created by the Earth Masters so that the spirits of all things would be named and known. Earth Masters Known as the Holy Ones, the creators and protectors of all that is. The Silka A mysterious race, known only as hints in the oldest tales. A race of dreamers whose dreams become reality; it is they who have created the Rift in their dreams and they who maintain it. Organizations Kenget'Ster(Celtic: Star Warrior) head by the MacCoun is also a star roving and trading house and an off shoot from millennia ago, of House Sere'Ster. Brann'Ster(Manx: Star Dreamers) headed by the MacAshlish, a defunct house (supposedly) with no descendants left and the gene line lost. (Sigil: star system, enclosed by a sphere. The sphere itself is pierced by radiating vectors originating from the symbol for infinity positioned within the center of the star system.) COBRA- Combined Baronial Alliance - mostly feudal lord types who have private armies, lots of money and control many of the major space lanes and space ports. Brutal and efficient Current head is Bahnderad, the worst of the bunch. There are reformers among them but have to walk carefully. Syndicate –Interstellar Mafia - they trade in drugs and slaves and high value items and luxuries, smuggling many of them. Hodrancurrent CEO and head of Sutta Sutta- pleasure world - on a moon orbiting Utern - casino and other dens of iniquity including a lot of really nasty places for those with very perverted taste. Still, most folks don't see that so it is the place were everyone in the Rim eventually shows up for vacation. Utern - typical rim world with large spaceport, only difference being it has Sutta orbiting it. Sutta - moon - pleasure world. The resort was blown up by Marc and Dinah Margas- in recent history, and in the bloody past of the Rim has been associated with some very bad stuff - namely destruction of worlds on no provocation and Margas is used to frighten children and threaten adults. The Barons frequently leave 'evidence' blaming Margas for their own atrocities. The Margassans has always let anyone blame Margas as it will, because they want mostly to be left alone, and if everyone is afraid of them that works for them. Paxx is a friend of the Margassans but wouldn't admit that anywhere. He and other members of the Guild of Traders work regularly for them Finistere - home of Weru'Ster Caer Berna Pensa - home to the Red Limit Bar, Guild hang out. If you wanna hire a trader, an assassin, whatever, here's the place to find them. Pensa's planetary police don't go into the port area - that'd be bad for business.
